Crazy weather, expensive gas

Our weather has been absolutely CRAZY the last couple days.
CALIFORNIA WEATHER
Tornadoes, mud slides, thunderstorms, hail/snow and FIRES!?!?!

It has been the most bizarre pattern in weather in the history of the state.

And gas prices aren't much better...

These prices are in Death Valley, CA. Not close but still...ridiculous. We can expect these prices to hit this summer. Can't wait.

Times are changing.

Never thought I'd hear about a tornado in Riverside county. When I saw it on the news last night, I was like... is this a joke? The rain was just weird yesterday. It was POURING at my apartment for a solid 2 hours, complete with thunder. I was driving to school on Sand Canyon, towards the 405, and as soon as I crossed Barranca, it stopped raining, and was sunny. But behind me, still raining. So weird.

How crazy is this? It was raining in the back of our house and the sun was shining sooo bright through our living room window which is in the front of our house. I took some video. Overall it was just an eerie day. They are talking about it now on the news again. The news reporters THRIVE on this stuff. Makes me wonder if the atmosphere is reacting to what's going on beneath the surface. Also have you noticed a ton of black beetle bugs lately? They are everywhere! I'm afraid that means they are rushing to the surface because of an impending quake. I hate to sound like Chicken Little but this weather is even baffling the scientists. There's no explanation for it.

That's where I'm from originally. Grew up in the northern 'burbs of Chicago then lived in the city for 7 years. Miss the city A TON but can't do the winters after living here. We also spent a year in Minnesota. That was tough. The entire month of January we lived there, the temp never got about 0. I drank a lot then.

I grew up in Lombard and then moved to Lake Geneva when my parents split...went to college in St Paul! I lived in Monterey CA for 2 years so I understand...

Still not as bad as: 1 liter gas = 1,65 Euro

Yes!!!!!!!! Those beetles are ICK. They've been all over our school (Costa Mesa). I haven't seen a ton of them near my place. -Knock on wood- It's very very very weird. My friend, a native Californian, said it doesn't thunder here much. She said she can't remember more than a few times in her LIFE, so all the thunder yesterday was so weird for her. It is just completely weird.

In the 5 years we've been here this is the 3rd time I've ever heard thunder. Though one time we had a storm with thunder and I was back visiting in Chicago so I missed it. I was soooo bummed. I love thunder. BUT HATE HATE HATE The RAIN!!!!
