On Auto Pilot

Today is our 10 year anniversary. Some recent developments that are beyond our control are not making for much of a celebratory mood in our house right now. Sadly, the timing of all this could not have been worse. I hate to sound all Debbie Downerish (AGAIN!) but I really have a hard time hiding my feelings so I can't quite fake the happiness right now.

I still have many blessing to count...Tom and I have good health and our families are generally healthy, we have an amazing network of friends and we will always have each other. I just need to believe that sometimes things happen for a reason and I guess what makes life exciting is the fact that it is SO. F*CKING. UNPREDICTABLE.

Happy Anniversary! (I hope things start to look up.)

I am Mary Beth's sister who graduated this weekend. I am going to be at the Valley Forge convention center next week and will check out Chumley's for tee shirts. What sizes would you want?

Oh my gosh! You are so cute! Thank you so much. I would love an adult x-small (or small if they don't have xs) and adult large. I can send you a check as soon as you know the price and I'll include enough for shipping too. You just made me smile.

Congratulations on your graduation! Lots of exciting things to come...

Don't you just love being reminded to count your blessings when you really want to punch someone on the nose instead?
I am so sorry that things are suck-y right now. I hope the day recovers somewhat, so you can have a good evening...maybe a tiny lemon drop or mint julep might perk things up a bit? Or letting Chumley have the computer for a bit so he can write Bev a torrid email?
Love from Karen.

Happy 10th Anniversary!!

It's the spontaneous times that aren't full of expectations that I find are truly the most joyful. Think about all the misery we bring to ourselves with Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Years only to kick ourselves when things don't work out or our families irritate the hell out of us.

Our 10th anniversary almost two years ago came and went without too much hulabaloo. But later that summer we were able to celebrate it properly and even then it wasn't all fireworks and snoopy dances.

Chin up, you still have an entire year to be technically married for 10 years. I'm sure y'all will have plenty of opportunities that won't disappoint, no doubt.

Happy Anniversay just the same!

Sweet, tiny friend. Happy Anniversary to you and Tom. I wish there were some way I could help carry the burden of the stress. I'm sure we all would. Aside from all this chaos, I hope you and Tom managed to find moments of bliss, love, and remembrance. Oh, and anniversay nookie. Don't forge about that. Very, very importante, senorita.

We love you,
Me, Belov-Ed, El Capitan, Achilles & Milo

Happy Anniversary (from another 5/22 couple)!

I'm sorry that you're going through some rough times. Keep your chin up. Remember - behind every big black thundercloud, the sunshine is waiting.... really and truly.

Sorry to hear you're going through the roughs right now. Life can be so ironic like that - throwing you a can of shit when you're wearing your fanciest dress. hang in there!

Thanks to all of you. I appreciate all the congratulations and words of encouragement. We have to muddle through some significant changes right now but I pray that the next 10 years will bring about peace and growth. Just not seeing it right at the moment but I'm hopeful it will re-appear.

You all brightened my day with your very thoughtful, caring comments. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. Blogging makes me feel connected to so many people all over the world who I've never even met! What an amazing support system we all have...
