Depressing

Above is the American Heritage Dictionary's definition of Depressing. They could not be more accurate. So what's the definition for "10 days of rainy depressing weather?"

And of course I have to torture myself and check the forecast back home.

My friend sent me this link highlighting point #2.

And it's true. I will never, ever understand.

I told Tom that companies who relocate people out here should provide them with a welcome packet containing the name of a therapist and a bottle of prozac. Or a noose. Not sure which one I'd opt for right now.

=(

Thanks Gina. I am going to try and head down to a store that sells them tomorrow if I can actually motivate myself to get outside. But I think that will help along with some drugs.

I don't know what else to do!

Seasonal Affection Disorder is REAL!!! Go get one of those lights and spend as much time under it as possible! I agree with Gina! You're coming from one of the warmest, sunniest climates in our country to one of the rainiest. It's only normal you should feel this way.

btw - How is Chumley these days? I miss his grouchy little face!

Long time reader, only commented once or twice. I debated on commenting now but, I can relate.

I moved to Seattle from Arizona where I lived my whole life and lasted 2 years. I don't mean to discourage you and I hope that you can stick this out but I do understand exactly what you are dealign with. I ended up meeting my husband in Seattle who agreed to move back to Arizona with me so something good came out of it!

He misses his family, but he says now that its always a great place to visit but he could never move back.

Do get those light boxes because you are used to seeing the sun and benefits that it offers. Take that away and your whole world can become very dark. I know because I've been there.

You'll get through this and these feeling are very real, very consuming so if you need medication too, get it. Don't let this get beyond your control.

I'm thinking of you. And Tom too.

I'm so sorry that this is such a hard time for you. It must be very shocking to your system when you've been so accustomed to the sun. I hope you feel better soon!

I hear you. Now that the weather has changed here from sunny, bright fall to darker days with nearly leafless, black limbed trees I get the blahs. I dread the winter and the cold weather. It drags you down. I know it will pass and the Spring will come. I have to focus on that.
It's something to look forward to.

I agree on the lighbox thing. I can totally see how that would work for you. GO GET ONE NOW!

and like HWHL i was wondering about chumley?

chin up.
:-))
