from the La Quinta Inn, Redding CA

I was going to keep this upbeat then, but it's just too hard to fake it right now.

The last few days have been rough. Can't even express it all through words.

My sister decided to fly up on Monday and spend the week with me. I need her there. It gives me something to look forward to. We have been texting back and forth most of the road trip today and were discussing all the things we'll do. Most everything would be outdoors. Now that we're all settled in the hotel room I decided to check the weather and let her know what to pack.

I did NOT expect this.

I feel awful and don't want to subject her to this, especially when it's her first time visiting.

Especially when we just left this. (for the record, last time S. Cal had any rainfall was May 24th and I recall how much of a grump ass I was that day. Tom will attest to this as well.)

I know I'm not even there yet but I can say with a bit of certainty, I don't think I'm going to last very long.

And it's probably time to change the name of this blog.

I don't know what to say, except I'm sorry that you are so sad about this. We are cozy up here. I've been sewing today, & took a walk that started rainy and ended up sunny -- and stripped down to a t-shirt. I hope this gives you hope.
By the way, how are Chumley and Wrigs doing in the van?
God bless you.

I am so sorry that you are affected by the weather so much.
I guess I am unusual, because I like rainy days. Really, they make me enjoy my home so much more.
I hope you do well. I hope your trip up north goes safe.
take care...
thinking of you. Suz

I've made the move myself, and it's definitely not easy. Having your sister here will be a big help. Don't always trust the weather reports. And honestly, this time of year when the leaves start changing is really beautiful!

I'm sorry this has been hard on you, hang in there...even though that seems hard too. We are all here for you. Sending happy thoughts and sunshine your way ( I can send sunshine, not warmth, supposed to get down to 38 tonight in good ole wisconsin.)

honestly, it's weather and you can't do anything about it. change the way you think about the situation if you can't change its circumstances. Buy a pretty rain jacket, fun new rain boots and paint your house really bright colors.
If you keep thinking things will suck - they will suck. If you look at them even a little bit positively, they will get better.

Some blog title suggestions:

"Live Wet"

(although, in all honesty, you might attract people looking for porn)

"Live Partly Cloudy"

"Starbucks Tastes Like Ass"

"Homelessness for Dummies"

"The Silver Lining"

The last one works because - you know - it's cloudy, and rainy and there's homeless people everywhere and the town smells like fish but - somewhere - something good HAS to be going on, right?

I mean - you got the Space Needle. So there's always that.

No don't give up the Live Happy..It reminds me everyday to at least try and not be such a whiny beeeeyatch...

Paint a room yellow and get the fake sunlight lamps.

BTW- People who live in constant sunshine also get the blues in the rain and the winter (even if it dips down to say like 60F..). I asked my psych about it, so no matter where I go there I still am.

Don't make me break out the video singing "You are my Sunshine". It would be ugly.

LOVE the new name!!! But, not as much as I love you!! I hope you're surviving this adventure with as few scrapes and bruises as possible. I mean that literally and figuratively, cuz we all know how clumsy you can be ;-)

I will miss Live Happy but I am excited to see what's to come with Where's The Sun!

(never been to Seattle so I will live vicariously through this blog)
